I want to see what you see. I want to feel what you feel. I am giving you a bag, and the rest is up to you.
Part 1. A Contest. We will be releasing 100 blank tote bags over 3 days, starting on August 20th. These totes are yours to design in any way you see fit. Take it apart, put it back together, embellish it… make it your own. The only rule: you must incorporate at least one complete “Rachel Nasvik” in your design, cut from the screen printed tag that will be attached to your tote. The 13 best will win a limited edition Rachel Nasvik bag.
The location of the bags and directions on how to obtain them will be disclosed every morning on this site. Approximately 25 bags will be released at each point, so if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.
To enter the contest: take a picture of your bag after you have completed it in an interesting composition. Make a 4 x 6 print, put it in an envelope, and send it to:

Part 2. A Party. We are teaming up with lower east side boutique TG170 to host a one-night gallery show on August 31st. Just as you did, a group of amazing artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, photographers, and skateboarders will also create a tote of their own. They will be displayed along with the images of the 13 winning bags to sell. All proceeds of these bags will go to Stoked Mentoring, a great NYC non-profit that we are proud to support.
